After training in Château-d'Oex to become a chef, Jean-Yves Blatt graduated from the renowned school of hotel management Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne.
Blatt then spent 13 years working in sales and marketing at prestigious hotels, such as the Lausanne Palace & Spa, where he handled their global marketing. Within a brief period of time, the former Director of Sales & Marketing made a very successful name for himself among hotel managers. He cemented his reputation in 2005, when he took over management of the languishing Grand Hotel Park Gstaad and helped restore the family-run company to its former glory. In 2015, having booked many years of experience as general manager of a Leading Hotel of The World and Swiss Deluxe Hotel, Blatt took over The Chedi Andermatt and brought the lighthouse project of Andermatt Swiss Alps into the black within two years.
The 2020 Hotel Manager of the Year draws his strength and inspiration for managing the 250-person operation from his family (married, three children, one dog). In his free time, he enjoys hiking and skiing.
