Skiing for half price between Andermatt and Disentis. Zurich-Andermatt special trains starting on 14 December 2019

The one-time purchase of a half-price subscription enables unlimited skiing at half price from December to May during the 2019/20 winter season.
The Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis region is introducing a half-price subscription this winter season. Starting on December 14, for only CHF 41 (adults) or CHF 20.50 (children up to 15 years of age), a half-price subscription is available that can be used to purchase unlimited day ski passes at half price during the 2019/20 winter season. With a day ticket price of CHF 84 (children 42), buying a half-price subscription pays off from the very first day. What’s more, the infrastructure has been further expanded with the addition of a new gondola cableway from Sedrun to the Disentis ski area, and the sports train between Dieni and Sedrun runs three times an hour.

Together with Bergbahnen Disentis, an offer has been created that resembles the SBB half-fare season ticket. "With the continuous connection from Andermatt via Sedrun to Disentis, we now have one of the most attractive ski regions – and that at half price", adds Marcus Weber, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bergbahnen Disentis AG. Special trains from Zurich to Andermatt
Starting on 14 December 2019, SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun will be running direct trains from Zurich to Andermatt (with a single transfer in Göschenen). The trains will leave Zurich every Saturday at 6:50 a.m. (return at 7:10 p.m.) and can be used only with special tickets for SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun. The round trip, including ski pass, costs CHF 69 with a SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun half-price subscription or a half-fare travelcard or GA travelcard for public transport. Without one of these subscriptions, the special ticket costs CHF 84.

The season in Andermatt already began on November 9 with the opening of the “Sonnenpiste” and the chairlift “Gurschen-Flyer” on the Gemsstock. Until December 1st Gemsstock is open on the weekends and from December 7th daily. Depending on the snow, the skiing area in Disentis will go into weekend operation from 30 November. From 14th December the Andermatt - Oberalppass - Dieni area will be open daily, if the snow conditions permit. From December 21, 2019 the whole area Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis is open.

Bergbahnen Disentis AG and SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun together offer more than 180 km of pistes. Since the completion of the ski area connection, the region has been marketed under the slogan “Add a plus Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis”. The snow-sure ski area reaches an altitude of 3,000 metres a.s.l., and the ski season lasts 7 months, from November to May.
In the Disentis area, Bergbahnen Disentis operates all mountain gastronomy establishments and two ski and bike shops. In addition, Bergbahnen Disentis offers over 800 beds in all categories, both in holiday apartments and in hotels.
SkiArena Andermatt Sedrun operates 13 mountain restaurants in the Andermatt Sedrun ski area as well as a hotel, two restaurants, a bakery and the Andermatt Swiss Ski and Snowboard School in the village of Andermatt. The SkiArena is a subsidiary of Andermatt Swiss Alps, which offers around 1,200 beds in all categories in Andermatt and operates Andermatt Golf Course as well.
