Season start of SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun on 2 November 2018

October 29, 2018

Early opening of the slopes thanks to intensive snowfall

Thanks to repeated intense snowfall and the positive weather forecast, SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun will open its first lifts and slopes on Friday, November 2nd. Additional slopes will open on November 9th. At 2,000 meters the snow depth measures about one metre.

The Andermatt-Gurschen gondola cableway and the Gurschen-Gurschenalp 4-seat chairlift, along with all the pistes between Gurschen and Gurschenalp will open on November 2nd at 8:30 am. The lifts and slopes on the Gemsstock will open a week later.
To open the season, SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun is offering day passes at special rates for the weekend from 2 to 4 November 2018: CHF 39 (adults), CHF 26 (adolescents) and CHF 13 (children). These tickets are available online and at the ticket offices. Season passes for the forthcoming winter season can also be purchased at the ticket offices.

From vision to destination: During the past several years, Andermatt has developed into a popular year-round holiday resort with numerous attractive features: apartment buildings, hotels and chalets, a Scottish-style 18-hole golf course that offers golfers a welcome challenge, and the SkiArena, not only one of the most modern ski regions in Switzerland but also the largest in Central Switzerland, with pistes from Andermatt to Sedrun and Disentis. With its perfect blend of alpine simplicity and urban sophistication, the five-star deluxe hotel The Chedi Andermatt exudes a special magic, as does the Radisson Blu Hotel Reussen, with its public indoor pool and wellness-and-fitness area.
