Andermatt Swiss Alps AG raising real estate prices as of January 2019

October 17, 2018

Andermatt Swiss Alps AG is seeing significant growth in demand for its real estate, in the double-digit percentage range.

Prices for properties in Andermatt Reuss will therefore be raised by five to ten percent on 1 January 2019. The increase in demand is due to the completion of the first phase of Andermatt Reuss and SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun. This has enhanced the attractiveness of the destination Andermatt.

With the ongoing completion of the touristic infrastructure – especially the bi-directional ski link between Andermatt and Sedrun in the SkiArena – and the opening of the hotel Radisson Blu Reussen Andermatt scheduled for November 2018, the attractiveness of Andermatt as a holiday destination continues to increase. As a result of the growing demand, at the beginning of next year Andermatt Swiss Alps AG will raise its real estate prices by five to ten percent, depending on the apartment and location.

Franz-Xaver Simmen, CEO of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG, comments: "With the moderate price increase, we are responding to the massive expansion of the infrastructure of Andermatt. With the AndermattSedrun ski link, the public swimming pool with wellness and fitness facilities in the Gotthard Residences as well as the restaurants and shops around Piazza Gottardo, we have massively expanded the offer for guests and buyers." In March 2019, the high-class concert hall with 700 seats will add another amenity. All this justifies a price increase.

The interest of major investors as well as international holiday and travel providers shows that Andermatt is back on the tourist map. The new holiday apartments are an attractive investment opportunity both as a long-term asset and a private holiday home.
