Andermatt-Sedrun ski link officially opened

March 9, 2018

On Saturday Samih Sawiris inaugurated the one-way continuous ski connection from Andermatt to Sedrun.

Chairman of the Board of Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG Samih Sawiris was very pleased that the link in one direction could be opened this winter, after construction work at the mountain station at 2,600 metres a.s.l. had been interrupted several times during recent months due to heavy snowfall and snowstorms.

The yellow-marked piste towards Oberalppass, ungroomed but secured against natural hazards, is now open for good skiers. The secured and groomed red piste towards Oberalppass will be ready for the start of winter season 2018/19. The prerequisite for the connection was the completion of the Schneehüenerstock-Flyer, which consists of 35 six-seat chairs with weather-protection hoods.
