Race format
Each athlete skis the race course twice during the qualifying round – once on the silver course and once on the blue course. The total time from both runs determines the order in which the starting gates can be chosen for the day of the competition. In addition, these times are used to determine the race groups. The fastest skier in each group has first choice of the starting gates and draws the line to be raced for the heat. Just as with normal ski cross, there are several preliminary runs leading up to the final.
